Custom Embossed Hinged Tin Box for Secure Packaging
Product overview
This compact embossed hinged tin box is intended for brands that want a reusable metal package with a clear retail presence and enough flexibility for private-label development. The image set shows a compact rectangular tin with a shallow profile, attached lid and visible raised detailing. The broad top panel supports a bold logo or pattern, while the one-piece hinged format keeps the lid connected during opening and daily use. It can be used as the starting point for an OEM or ODM project rather than treated as a fixed, off-the-shelf specification. Dimensions may be selected from existing moulds or customized after the product, pack layout, order volume and destination market are reviewed.
Recommended applications
This format can be considered for mints, small personal-care items, accessories, samples, promotional kits and other compact packaged goods. The best application depends on the actual contents, required fill quantity, opening experience and distribution conditions. If the product will touch the metal directly, the inner coating and any liner must be selected for that specific use. If an insert, divider or protective bag is needed, it should be designed around the real product rather than estimated from the outside dimensions alone.
Design and structure
The attached lid and clasp-style details can be developed to achieve a chosen opening feel. However, the appearance of a clasp does not by itself establish child-resistant or regulated performance; any such requirement needs a defined protocol and independent testing. The photographed appearance is used to describe the visible shape and presentation only. It is not evidence of airtightness, moisture resistance, food-contact compliance, child resistance or any other tested performance. Those points must be defined in the project brief and confirmed on the final structure.
Dimensions and capacity
Diameter, length, width, height and usable internal space can be customized or matched to an existing mould. To recommend a suitable size, we normally need the dimensions of the packed product, target fill weight or volume, preferred arrangement, headspace and any insert requirements. Nominal capacity and actual fill weight are not the same: powders, tea, cookies and confectionery have different densities and packing behavior. A physical fill test is therefore recommended before tooling or mass production is approved.
Printing and customization
Possible visual directions include embossed or debossed lid artwork, full-surface printing, spot colors, matte or gloss varnish, metallic accents and contrasting interior colors. Final options depend on the metal, shape, artwork coverage and production process. Artwork should be prepared on the confirmed dieline with fonts, barcodes and required legal text checked by the customer. Pantone references or approved color samples are useful when brand color is important. Embossing and debossing require attention to the printable area, logo size and distance from formed edges. Decorative finishes should be sampled because color and gloss can look different on a curved or embossed metal surface than on a computer screen.
Sampling and production process
A practical project normally starts with the intended contents, reference dimensions, quantity, artwork, target market and required arrival date. We then review available moulds and identify which details can be customized without new tooling. After the structure is selected, the artwork area and finishing plan can be confirmed. Depending on the project, evaluation may include a plain sample, a printed sample or a production-representative sample. Mass production should begin only after the customer approves the relevant structure, artwork and test requirements. MOQ, tooling, sample time and production lead time are quoted according to the confirmed specification rather than assumed from a photograph.
Quality points to confirm
Important checks for this project include hinge movement, closure engagement, opening force, edge condition, embossing definition, print registration and repeated-use behavior. Cosmetic appearance should be reviewed under agreed inspection conditions, and functional expectations should be written into the approved specification. For products intended for food, cosmetics or regulated markets, the required material declarations, migration tests or package tests must be identified for the destination and end use. YiCheng can review the packaging requirement, but the final claim should follow applicable documentation and completed testing.
Packing and shipment
Individual protection, dividers, polybags, paper wrapping and export cartons can be planned according to the surface finish and risk of scratching or denting. Carton quantity, carton dimensions and gross weight are confirmed after the final tin size and packing method are fixed. Seasonal and launch-date projects should work backward from the required arrival date, allowing time for artwork approval, sampling, production, inspection and international shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Is this automatically child-resistant?
No. A child-resistant claim may only be used after the final package has passed the required test for the destination market.
Can I use my own artwork and logo?
Yes. Customer-owned artwork can be adapted to the confirmed print area. We recommend confirming the dieline before final artwork is completed.
Can you confirm MOQ and lead time from the image?
No. MOQ and timing depend on mould availability, dimensions, printing, finishing, order quantity and testing. They are confirmed after specification review.
What should I send for a quotation?
Please provide the intended contents, target dimensions or fill quantity, required quantity, artwork or design direction, destination market, testing needs and requested delivery date. Photos of the actual product and the preferred pack layout help us recommend a more suitable structure.
